Abstract: | : | Individual agent policies can sometimes lead to inconsistent agent actions in a multiagent context. These are especially problematic where inconsistencies could be mission-critical in that they violate hard domain constraints like trying to use the same resource for two different activities. It is important to coordinate the policies in a cost effective way without over-constraining individual agents. In this talk, I describe some of our ongoing research that harnesses game theory, decentralized learning and topological information of agent networks for coordinating policies. I will discuss the effectiveness of our algorithms in the context of a weather tracking domain and language coordination application. Speaker Bio: Anita Raja is a Professor of Computer Science and Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs at The Cooper Union in Manhattan. She served on the faculty at UNC Charlotte until July 2014. Her research focuses on developing representations and algorithms for multiagent planning, coordination and organization in the context of uncertainty and limited computational resources. Applications include intelligent information gathering, weather tracking, predictive analytics and clinical informatics. She received a B.S. in Computer Science from Temple University in 1996 and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2003. |
